Since 1968, Waverley Woollahra Art School has provided high-quality art education by practicing artists. It is the arts hub of Sydney’s eastern suburbs, offering a range of art courses, talks, workshops, residencies, and shows. They provide art programs for;  little artists (4-5), young artists (6-8), intermediate (8-11), and teen and adult artist groups (12-adult) for all ages. Visual Arts are focused on providing the conceptual, theoretical, and technical skills students need to succeed as practicing artists or in a range of careers in the creative industries. Students have access to gallery spaces, art studios, practical expertise, and shared postgraduate culture. This is Sydney’s first tertiary art school, and they have led the way in studio-based visual arts practice and education since 1976.
Our vision is to create a space to encourage art making, experiment different art forms, and to inspire, to connect with one another, and to discover oneself and the world. We work predominantly with primary schools and hold extensive experience in catering our workshops to your class' curriculum. Art and creative workshops are not just about creating a piece of artwork. Creativity can boost self-esteem and relieve stress and anxiety by allowing mindfulness.
Our workshops are held in accessible and safe spaces, and we provide all of the necessary materials and equipment. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore their creativity, and we are committed to making our NDIS art workshops as accessible as possible. Our passionate team of artists and educators create a fun, inclusive environment where creativity thrives. Studio grade lighting and an extensive  collection of artist quality plaster cast busts, statues, and anatomical models provide a best in class environment for students to extend their skills in drawing and painting. Whether it's painting, drawing, sculpture, or mixed media, our NDIS art workshops offer a range of activities to suit every interest and skill level. By participating in these workshops, individuals with disabilities can develop their creativity, build confidence, and express themselves in new and meaningful ways. All art classes run according to regular schedules during public school terms. Classes in our art school are  available on weekday after school and Saturdays. Our Fluid Art Home Kit brings the joy of our signature no-brush painting sessions straight to your doorstep. And gain advice on the development and refinement of your major project from a tutor who knows what it takes to get a Band 6. A class size limit of 12 students per tutor provides the ideal group for social interaction with peers who share similar interests while ensuring plenty of one-on-one interaction between each student and the tutor.
They are now nearly 6, 7 and almost 10 years old.The classes are a highlight of the holidays and the children would do as many sessions as we could manage! Beginners to more experienced artists will learn how to draw and paint using different techniques. Everyone works at their own pace with personal guidance from the tutor.
