As an integrated extension of the digital canvas, shifting light images flow through the ceiling, wall and water elements of the space, expanding the visual content beyond the canvas into the entire two-storey foyer. A 13m-tall cylindrical, programmable artwork of falling water cascades in multiple forms down through the centre of the space, becoming a gracefully moving canvas for light, laser and projections. Traditions of tiptoeing through silent galleries and viewing paintings from afar in quiet contemplation are forgotten as visitors find themselves interacting with art in ways they never imagined. Van Gogh’s works have been exhibited and admired for over a century – but never like this. Created by Grande Experiences, Van Gogh Alive, a COVID-Safe digital art experience, gives visitors the unique opportunity to immerse themselves into Van Gogh’s artistry and truly venture into his world.

Joan Ross’s vibrant eight-minute digital artwork offers a colorful critique of Australia’s colonization. This thought-provoking piece challenges viewers to reconsider historical narratives while engaging with contemporary artistic perspectives on Sydney’s complex past. Vivid Ideas returns with a line-up of more than 30 events designed to spark conversation and challenge perspectives. Highlights include ‘In Conversation with Martha Stewart’ and comedy duo Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally at ICC Sydney.
An immersive murder mystery set in the plague-ridden medieval village of Dork. Every guest receives a character role with hidden objectives, alliances, and secrets, then works with others to uncover clues, form alliances, and figure out what — or who — is behind the strange events unfolding around them. A community trivia night focused on Mardi Gras history, with drag performances and prizes. Held at Paddo RSL, across the road from Paddington Town Hall where the first Mardi Gras Party was held. The impressionists were famed for their use of movement, light, shadow and visible brushstrokes – elements that will be highlighted and magnified in this larger-than-life exhibition. So Luna Park has been working on a transformation – to reignite Sydney’s pride for the heritage-listed theme park and position it as one of the world’s leading experience destinations. Created by the late Wiradjuri/Kamilaroi filmmaker and photographer Michael Riley, this 20-minute digital film tells the powerful story of Sydney’s First Nations people before and after colonization. The exhibition offers visitors a chance to engage with Indigenous perspectives on Sydney’s history.

I am asked a series of “Yes” and “No” questions, and at one point posed with a moral dilemma for which there are two paths I can choose. It’s a level of interactive that begins to blur the lines of storytelling, where the audience is both a character with real choices and a witness to the story.
