Our strengths focused assessments are neuroaffirmative, and our expert clinicians understand and advocate for individuality, diversity and inclusivity. Approximately 1 in 7 individuals will have a neurodivergent processing difference such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADD, ADHD and ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition). We therefore offer bespoke onsite workshops on neurodiversity which provide essential information for teachers and TAs.

With our team of human assessors, assistive technology trainers, learning and wellbeing mentors, we make this support easy to access so that more people understand and benefit from their built-in superpower of neurological differences. The resources are aimed at increasing the knowledge, skills, and understanding of neurodivergence for those working in the emergency services. Carter Brown works in partnership with local authorities, solicitors, and criminal justice services nationwide to deliver high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments.

This understanding helped with our user research interviews as we were able to check with participants whether our understanding was an accurate reflection of the existing service. We also gathered evidence about the value of pursuing digital solutions to address and support these problems. Through desktop research we learned that in England, for example, they are using digital solutions Occupational Health Solutions in this area and our research explore pros and cons for this solution. At Children in Mind, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, expert care for young people and their families. Being neurodivergent means having a neurobiology that differs from the predominant neurotype.
We create comprehensive holistic interventions for an individual needs including specific diet, recommendations for parenting strategies, OT and SALT interventions. In a package we also include psychoeducation for neurodivergent individual as well as for their family. This is individually tailored service and it aims to support the individual and their family in wider holistic way rather than fragmented individual interventions. Prof. Spendelow has worked as a clinical psychologist for 20 years in both the public and private sectors. He has wide-ranging experience across several practice areas, including neurodiversity, adult mental health, and medical psychology.

Our National Autism Team has been re-launched as the National Neurodivergence Team. We are evaluating the impact of the Statutory Code of Practice, with the first outcome report published in 2024. Where it is felt to be beneficial for you, the PSW team can arrange a confidential neurodiversity screening with our external assessor. Please be advised that our assessments will require some travel to our Saltash office for part of the assessment.
In the face of unprecedented demand for both diagnosis and treatment, we have made significant progress in developing integrated services. Once you’ve submitted this form, a member of our experienced team will be in touch to discuss your requirements. If you’re not eligible for AtW or DSA, this can be a helpful option to consider, allowing you to access funding and pay for support that works for you. You can also apply for PIP if you are working, studying, or receiving other benefits. On average, you could be paid between £70 to £100 for daily living each week. If you receive PIP, you may also be eligible for additional support schemes, which can be useful resources for neurodiversity.
If the initial screening identifies signs of a neurodiversity then the PSW team will consider whether to refer you to our external assessor for a full diagnostic assessment (see below). Our work focuses on children in vulnerable situations and the services that support them. We’re made a number of recommendations including doing further work to explore the development of a digital information gathering product to address key user and professional needs.

The Hub aligns to Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly Neurodevelopmental Profiling Tool, but it can be used by everyone. It forms a part of our early help offer of support for children, young people, and their families. The contributors to the content of the profiling sections are varied and include those with lived experience and professionals working with neurodivergent children and young people. I can complete diagnostic assessments for adults to see if they meet the diagnostic criteria for Autism, ADHD, and or Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination  Disorder. However, as an Occupational Therapist I am more  interested in helping people to improve their health, well-being and functioning, rather than giving them a label for their condition.
